About Us
Welcome to the Social Registry portal, a flagship initiative of the West Bengal government aimed at providing transparent and efficient access to social security schemes and welfare benefits for its citizens. Our mission is to empower the people of West Bengal by ensuring seamless delivery of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) programs and other social welfare initiatives.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a robust and inclusive social registry system that enables citizens to track their welfare benefits and DBT statuses with ease. We strive to bridge the gap between the government and its citizens by providing a user-friendly platform for accessing various social security schemes, promoting transparency, accountability, and inclusivity.
Our Values
- Transparency: We are committed to providing clear and concise information about our programs and services, ensuring that citizens have access to accurate and timely information.
- Inclusivity: We strive to ensure that all eligible citizens have access to our programs and services, regardless of their background, location, or socio-economic status.
- Accountability: We are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of accountability, ensuring that our programs and services are efficient, effective, and responsive to the needs of our citizens.
Our History
The West Bengal government has been at the forefront of social welfare initiatives, launching several flagship programs aimed at empowering its citizens. In February 2021, the government introduced the Lakshmir Bhandar scheme, which provided monthly financial assistance to eligible women. As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance social security programs, the government replaced Lakshmir Bhandar with the new Annapurna Bhandar scheme on June 1, 2026. This scheme offers a uniform monthly financial assistance of ₹3,000 to eligible women aged 25-60, transferred directly into Aadhaar-linked bank accounts via DBT.
To support these initiatives, the government operates two primary social security portals: socialregistry.wb.gov.in (Social Registry) and socialsecurity.wb.gov.in (Social Security). These portals serve as gateways for citizens to track their welfare benefits and DBT statuses, access various social security schemes, and apply for new benefits.
Our Impact
Our portal has made a significant impact on the lives of citizens in West Bengal, enabling them to access their welfare benefits and DBT statuses with ease. With the introduction of the Annapurna Bhandar scheme, we are committed to providing a more inclusive and equitable social security program that benefits eligible women across the state.
